FengShui Yellow

Feng Shui and the Color Yellow

Yellow represents the rising sun. Yellow is the Feng Shui equivalent of sunlight, which is always uplifting, hopeful, cheerful and positive. The vibrations given off by the energy of yellow will brighten any room in a home or office. In Feng Shui it creates a sense of being welcomed into a cozy, comfortable happy environment.

Yellow comes in many warm shades, from soft buttery tones to hot, vibrant sunflower yellows. This gives you many different Feng Shui options when selecting which yellow you would like to use for the décor of your home interior or office.

The color yellow is ideal for:

  • Kitchens
  • Children’s bedrooms
  • Playrooms
  • Living rooms
  • Home office or studio

Yellow and orange share much in common when it comes to Feng Shui. Both colors share the fire Feng Shui element and express this in a gentle manner. In a dull, dingy room with not a lot of sunlight coming in, using a yellow Feng Shui color scheme will greatly add to the warmth of the space. Yellow will make up for the lack of light coming in and carry with it gentle cheerful energy to cheer up an otherwise dull and uninspiring space.

The color yellow possesses the Feng Shui element of fire, but in a more subdued manner than red or purple. Yellow is enchanting above all other colors and very easy on the nerves, which makes it an ideal color to live with.  Researchers in the science of color believe that yellow can increase self-esteem and contribute to overall health and wellbeing.

These same attributes are present in yellow and gold colored crystals, like pyrite and citrine. These can be contained in glass bowls or vases, which are beautiful when placed on a table or mantle, creating a Feng Shui atmosphere of wellbeing and contentment.
